I worked under the direction of Lucy for over 17 years as a Staff Nurse. She taught me so many management skills and enhanced my nursing skills! She also taught me hiw to stand up for myself! I am no longer that shy newly qualified nurse who would not make my point! I have so much respect for her and will always think of her as one if my mentors and friend. She loved her reputation but i know that she was a supportive and kind lady who helped me during hard times (without making a fuss)! 
There are lots of fond memories of Lucy which are funny, caring, kind and professional! 
I will continue to always carry out all my nursing care as i was shown by yourself and a few other “strong” individuals in our unit to a high standard! I take pride in that (although I could do with retirement now)!
May you rest in peace Lucy and be reunited with John
